The consist of the
Election Department, Motor Vehicle Department, Recording Department, and
the Clerk to the Board. The Grand County Clerk and Recorder is also the
local registrar for " Vital Records" (birth and death records). Persons born in
Colorado may obtain a certified Birth Certificate from this office.
These departments provide a variety of services for the citizens of Grand
County.
The Election Department is responsible for all election functions from
registering a voter, to tabulating the votes.

The Motor Vehicle Department is responsible for the titling and
registration of all types of motor vehicles.

The Recording Department processes documents, which establish legal
rights to property by providing public notice through the recording process.
A variety of other documents are recorded such as the trade names,
marriage records, and Uniform Commercial Code (U.C.C.) files. We stop accepting documents to record at 4:00 pm daily. If you locate a
particular document and need a copy of it, complete and mail a copy
request form or visit our office at 308 Byers Avenue (open weekdays except
holidays from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm) to purchase a copy or certified copy.

The Clerk to the Board is responsible for recording and maintaining the
minutes of the Board of County Commissioners, liquor licensing, and
recording the County Board of Equalization.
