Secretary Leavitt is referring to Pandemic Influenza planning in the United States. This is not a made-for-TV movie; it is a natural disaster that has a high probability of occurring in the next few years. We don’t know the size of this disaster or to what scale it will hit the world, but Grand County will be affected.
At this time Grand County Public Health is given an opportunity to work together, collaborate and plan for Grand County preparedness for Pandemic Influenza. Grand County Public Health can do all the planning but without the input of other agencies, individuals, & businesses; a plan that we put together in a vacuum will not benefit the Grand County community.
That is why we are asking you to participate on the Grand County Pandemic Flu Task Force. Your input is valuable and your community needs you.
If you are interested in working or volunteering for the committee please contact Grand County Public Health. If you would like to know more information about pandemic influenza you may get more information at http://www.pandemicflu.gov/
We want everyone in Grand County to be prepared and if the pandemic does not strike us in the near future, families and communities will be prepared for any disaster, natural or manmade, that may happen.
