Q. What can I do with slash from downed/removed trees from my property?
A. Grand County manages slash removal through burning, chipping or disposal at a county landfill. The burning of slash requires a permit and is conducted during the open burn season through the winter months only. Please call the Grand County Division of Natural Resources at 970-887-0745 for more details.

Q. How can I make sure 9-1-1 Reverse Notification System (RNS) is working for me?
A. Make sure that you have disabled privacy features and any call blocking or “zappers”.

Q. What is defensible space and how can I make my home safer from wildfire?
A. Defensible space is the system of removing flammable vegetation near a home or structure making it more resistant to wildfire. Please visit the Colorado State Forest Service FireWise website.
