NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN
THAT THE LANDFILLS ARE
SCHEDULED TO CLOSE
ON OR AFTER JANUARY 1, 2010.
The Granby Landfill may remain open until early spring 2010 under its current hours/rates and the Kremmling Landfill may be open after January 1, 2010 on Saturdays only from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Both landfills will close to coincide with the Transfer Station opening.

In order for the Grand County Landfills (Granby
and Kremmling) to remain compliant with State of Colorado standards, certain
wastes must be prohibited while others must be removed from the waste stream and
recycled.
Waste rejected at the landfills:
- Asbestos (any type)
- Grease trap waste (any type)
- Infections/Red bag waste
- Lab chemicals
- Liquids (any type other than motor oil, see below)
- PCB wastes (transformers, barrels, etc.)
- Pesticides
- Radioactive waste (any type)
- Sand trap waste (any type)
- Sewage treatment sludge (any type)
- White goods (appliances) containing C.F.C.'s
- Coal ash (fly ash and bottom ash)
- Smoldering or burning materials (any type)
- Electronic wastes including computers, cell phones and televisions (from
non-residential sources only including schools, government entities and
businesses)
- Mercury-containing waste including fluorescent light bulbs, high pressure
sodium and mercury lamps, thermostats, thermometers and blood pressure cuffs
(from non-residential sources only, as above)
- Nickel cadmium or lithium batteries (from non-residential sources only, as
above)
- Aerosol cans that contain any hazardous waste such as brake cleaner,
carburetor cleaner, paint or any other volatiles (from non-residential sources
only, as above)
Waste accepted and recycled:
- Lead acid batteries
- Used motor oil
- Tires
- White goods (appliances) with C.F.C.'s removed
- Solid metal items (excluding product containers made of metal)

information regarding HazMat , please contact the Colorado Hazardous Materials and Waste Management
Division online, or at 888-569-1831.
There will be a state user fee added to
each cubic yard load. 10¢ per car, 20¢ for truck or trailer per
load , 30¢/yd. for commercial.
There will be a state user fee of $1.00 per ton to
each tonnage load.
Senior Citizen Discount
Seniors are allowed to drop off up to 4 cubic yds. of
normal household trash per month at no charge. Contact your local landfill for
further information.
