Q: How do I begin?
A: The $100.00 fee must be paid before you begin your hours. This is separate from the court fees that are listed on your sentence order.
We accept checks, money orders, or cash. We do not accept credit or debit cards. You can mail a check, or money order payable to GCSO to Grand County Sheriff Dept. PO Box 48, Hot Sulphur Springs, CO 80451 You may also pay in person at the Grand County Sheriffs Department 670 Spring St. Hot Sulphur Springs, CO When we receive payment, we will mail you a packet which includes your receipt, information letter, worksheets, resource guide or website, to assist you with finding agencies.
Q: Who can I do hours for?
A: Work must be done with a Non Profit Agency. There are many to chose from. This includes government agencies, schools, churches, libraries, animal shelters, good will agencies. Work cannot be done for an individual. You cannot be paid or reimbursed for the work.
Q: What if want to do my hours in another county?
A: Yes, you may do your hours in another county, however, please call us at (970) 725-3343 for specific information regarding “referrals”.
