How can I report a road rage incident?
If you witness road rage please note the description of the vehicle(s) involved, the direction of travel and a description o fthe driver(s) if possible. If you have a cellular telephone please pull to a safe area and report the incident to the local law enforcement authorities, by contacting the Grand County communications center at the Sheriff's Department at
970-725-3343

How do I get in touch with Animal Control?
For all issues related to domestic animals you may reach the animal control by dialing the Sheriff’s Department number and speaking with dispatch.  For more information about Animal Control visit their web site at

How do I get a Burn Permit?
Burn permits can be obtained through
Division of Natural Resources located at the Grand County  Road and Bridge (970) 887-0745

VIN checks (Vehicle Identification Number)
Inspections are done by the Department of Motor Vehicle located at the Grand County Courthouse. Please provide your current title registration, or other document listing the VIN number. DMV can be contacted at 970-725-3347 if you have any questions regarding what is needed.

If the vehicle cannot be brought to the Courthouse, you may contact the Sheriff's Department at 970-725-3343. The call will be placed to dispatch to arrange a time for an officer to meet you at the vehicle for the inspection.
