Birth & Death Certificates
Birth certificates can now be printed by the Grand County clerk and recorder for anyone born in the State of Colorado after 1905. To request a certified copy of birth or death certificate, complete and return an application to the Clerk and Recorder's Office:
Civil Union / Marriage Licenses
A civil union or marriage license may be issued in any county in Colorado and used in any county in Colorado. The cost of a civil union / marriage license is $30 (cash only).The two steps to obtain your license in Grand County are outlined below.

Obtain the license in person at the Grand County Clerk and Recorder’s Office. Both parties must present a valid government issued form of photo ID. The license will be issued over the counter and is valid for 35 days, including the date of issuance, for use anywhere in the State of Colorado.
There are restrictions to the issuance of civil union and marriage licenses, including but not limited to matters concerning age, blood relationship, marital status, union status, or guardianship status. If one party can not appear due to illness or incarceration, he or she must complete an Absentee Application. Please note that a civil union license may be issued to any couple while a marriage license may only be issued to male-female couples.
