Pursuant to HB21-1162, Management of Plastic Products, beginning April 1, 2024, a store is required to remit 60% of the carryout bag fee revenues to the municipality or county within which the store is located. Please use this form to report Carry Out Bag fees to Grand County.
Grand County will begin the collection of the disposable bag fee during April, 2024. Please follow these instructions in order to ensure proper processing.
Remittance of the 60% disposable bag fees collected during 2023 and the first quarter of 2024,shall be due to Grand County on April 20th, 2024. Disposable bag fees collected after April 1st,2024, will be due quarterly. For example, 60% of the disposable bag fees collected during the firstquarter are due no later than April 20th. If the 20th falls on a weekend or County holiday, therevised due day is the following business day.
The Disposable Bag Fee Return Form should be prepared using the store’s point-of-sale systemthat shows total bags disposed of for the previous quarter (i.e. cash register tape).
Payment should be submitted with this Disposable Bag Fee Return Form for each reporting period.
Checks are preferred and can be mailed to the address above. Mailed payment must be received by the 20th of the month.
You may also remit payment via check-by-phone to our Treasurer ($1 fee), or you may submit anEFT payment to our Treasurer ($15 fee) by calling 970-726-3061. If you choose any of these options, your reports may be emailed the same day to email@example.com.
If a licensee must pay in cash, payment must be made no later than 2:30pm on the 20th of the month.
