Civil Division

Civil process is one of the statute-mandated functions of the Office of the Sheriff. Pursuant to state statute, the Civil Division provides services such as Service of Process, Evictions / Writs of Restitution and Decree of Foreclosure / Writ of Execution / Sheriff’s Sales. 

The Grand County Sheriff’s Office Civil Division is responsible for serving civil papers to Grand County citizens.


Fees

Fees for service must be paid in advance. We accept cash, checks must be made payable to Grand County Sheriff’s Office. We also accept debit & credit cards, which can be taken over the phone and there is a small transaction fee to use those cards. To determine the correct civil fees for service, see the below chart and include the mileage. Fees are set by State Statute and County Resolution Section 30-1-104 CRS.
