East Troublesome Fire

The East Troublesome Fire is located near Grimes Peak on the Arapaho National Forest, and is managed by the Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest.

The Grand County Sheriff has issued a mandatory evacuation order the Big Horn Park, due the close proximity of the East Troublesome Fire. Additional evacutions have been ordered overnight.

Today is Oct 16, 2020. The East Troublesome Fire continues to grow in size. The Grand County Sheriff has issued a pre-evacuation order for this area so you can prepare in the event that you receive a mandatory evacuation order. Please have all necessary items ready to go, such as a change of clothes, an extra pair of shoes, prescription meds, identification, wallets, cash, water and snacks. Don’t forget your pets and their food, bowls and meds.

If you have livestock to evacuate, do so now while you have time. If you do not feel safe, you can evacuate on your own.

If you have evacuated or chose to evacuate early, please register using East Troublesome Fire Evacuee(s) Registration Form to assist with the re-entry process.

Please do not call 911 unless you have an emergency. This is a pre-evacuation notification only.

Mandatory Evacuation orders have been issued for the northern part of CR 21.

Pre-Evacuation orders have been issued for the southern part of CR 21 and the HWY 40 and HWY 125 corner.
