MARCH 23 – Today the Grand County Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) appointed Edward Moyer as County Manager. Moyer has been serving as the Interim County Manager since the departure of Kate McIntire last December.
A long-time resident of Grand County, Moyer has served as the Interim County Manager on three different occasions, and has acquired a deep knowledge of County administration, including water and other high-profile issues unique to Grand County. He has served as the Assistant County Manager since 2012.
Moyer’s appointment was approved in a unanimous vote during the March 23 BOCC meeting. In discussion prior the vote, all three Commissioners offered positive comments about the contributions Moyer has – and will continue to make – to Grand County.
“I’m very happy Ed has chosen to accept this position. He will provide much needed stability and expertise to this County,” said Commissioner Kristen Manguso.
“Ed has experience with local government here in Grand County and other municipalities. He also has a background in the private sector, and therefore brings a variety of experience to the job,” said Commissioner Rich Cimino.
“Ed is a great fit for Grand County. (His appointment) helps all of our employees to do their jobs better,” said Commissioner Merrit Linke.
Moyer’s annual contracted salary will be $150,000. The BOCC will be pursuing Moyer’s replacement for Assistant County Manager.
