June 15, 2022— Today, Commissioner Kristen Manguso announced her resignation from Grand County Commissioner, District 3 in order to accept an offer to fill the county’s open Community Development Director position.
Ms. Manguso has served two terms as District 3’s Commissioner, and announced earlier in the year that she would not be seeking re-election this fall for a third term. She previously served as Grand County’s Planning Director, and has a depth of knowledge and experience in the role.
“Ms. Manguso’s experience and institutional knowledge of this Department, both as a former Planning Director and her tenure as County Commissioner, is of great benefit to the citizens of Grand County and the development community,” said County Manager Ed Moyer. “I believe Ms. Manguso is the right person to fill this important role in Grand County at this time.”
Commissioner Merrit Linke (District 2) and Commissioner Rich Cimino (District 1) extended their sincere gratitude to Ms. Manguso for the time she has served citizens as Commissioner, and look forward to working with her in this new capacity.
Ms. Manguso’s resignation is effective Monday, June 20 at 5 p.m. The Grand County Republican Party Vacancy Committee will be responsible for appointing a replacement for the District 3 Commissioner for the remainder of Ms. Manguso’s term.
